Camboulit, a pretty nugget in the Célé valley

Ajouter aux favoris

Nestling in the heart of the Célé valley, Camboulit is a medieval gem where time seems to stand still. Its picturesque narrow streets, stone houses and panoramic views over the valley make it a must-see in the Lot. In summer or winter, every visit promises a new discovery.

A castrum

remarkable

The village of Camboulit has preserved some surprising and spectacular evidence of its rich medieval past. Between the towers and the fortified gateway, a 13th-century castrum can still be seen in the village’s urban landscape. Take your time wandering through the pretty little streets and admiring the scenery of the Célé valley.

The Romanesque parish church

Saint-Martin

The Romanesque church of Saint-Martin was built outside the castrum, in the Célé valley. Today, a beautiful apse remains in the middle of the cemetery. The building is listed as a Historic Monument. This village, less well known than others in the valley, is well worth a visit during your stay!

The secret

Célé valley

From its high cliffs to its beautiful villages and hidden treasures, the Célé valley undulates around a variety of landscapes. The diversity of natural environments to be found in the valley (moorland and grassland, rocky habitats, valley-bottom meadows, not forgetting the aquatic environments of the Célé) has led to part of it being classified as a Natura 2000 site. Biodiversity is rich and remarkable. Part of the Célé valley is also part of the Causses du Quercy Regional Nature Park.
