Treat yourself at the restaurant Le Grézalide

Do you know those places where time seems to stand still? These places where you can recharge your batteries, the time of a break, a meal or a night.
Like a paradise set in the heart of the Causses du Quercy: welcome to the Restaurant Le Grézalide!

A framework

exceptional

As you have understood, Le Grézalide is first of all an ambiance, a green setting, an oasis on the Causses. Christelle and Pascal welcome you to this majestic castle that seems enveloped in invigorating greenery. One dreams of sitting back and contemplating this precious nature. The castle has always been a place of life: priory, horseback gendarmerie relay, school or town hall, it is a key element of the village of Grèzes. Around it, an incredible garden and a bucolic park. The latter is in free access, open to residents, hikers, people passing through or customers to “discuss, play, have a good time“. With no obligation to consume, it’s just a lively place for meetings. “We want the castle to be accessible to everyone again”. The most beautiful comment received: “But Pascal, what are you doing here?” “We chose to be here, we followed our instincts, it’s a coup de coeur of the region, the place. Here we immediately loved the environment, the mentalities, everything is fabulous !“.

Always

with care

Le Grézalide is the welcome and the atmosphere of a guest house, but with the requirement of a service and a table of great quality“. To work here, you need to have real human qualities, to know how to be welcoming, “it’s the most important thing for us”. Christelle and Pascal love meetings and pleasing their customers, nothing is left to chance. On the products side, exclusively local: the meat comes from Saint Céré, the fruits and vegetables from Quercy Primeur, the bread from Brengues… The aromatic plants come from their potager. The wine is also chosen from a local cellar, the 1370, “they make us discover beautiful things”. The notion of eco-responsibility is strong, here we think about what we consume and how we consume it. “Pleasure is the key word while being responsible and reasonable “.

Tell us about it

Your favorite moment: “When the customers are happy with the meal, the departure of the customers: it is at this moment that they share with us that they exchange on their feelings. As well as the setting, the magical place: we are lucky, the place is fabulous. We enjoy working here.”

Your best memory: “ALL! Everything is interesting here! Ah, if, when we took over, we invited all the inhabitants of Grèzes to inaugurate the castle. We thought we had a few people and what a surprise when 80 people arrived in the park! A really warm moment.”

What you like best about the Lot: “It’s a really beautiful place, close to remarkable tourist spots with lots of entertainment. We are both lost in the middle of nature and close to emblematic places.”

Christelle and Pascal
Choose the wine and

discover the dish

The menu is “surprise” designed around the wine, as in great restaurants. “We discover the dishes with the wine, the meal is incidental“. The fact of not giving any information about what we are going to taste gives even more desire to come. Pascal cooks with his heart, “I like to share my cooking, to make people discover“. The taste of cooking, comes partly from his mother, “she used to test things, I remember seeing her cooking as a child, it marked me“. Today Pascal takes each customer on a cultural journey, sometimes surprising. “It’s always nice when you hear a customer who likes their dish say “I didn’t expect that! “. Pascal takes care to have his wife and their employees taste his preparations. “This is a chance for us!” confides Christelle. And the children are not forgotten, gourmet menu for them too, “it is necessary to awaken their taste buds “!

Two courses

in gold

“Graduated from the hotel school of La Louvière in Belgium and after a career in very beautiful houses in Belgium, Pascal ends his career with the final of one of the best cooks of Belgium in 2003 (Prosper Montagné award). Also trained at the Lenôtre school and the Alain Ducasse school, for more than 15 years, he was head chef of the kitchens of a large establishment, north of Bordeaux before becoming restaurant manager. During these years, finalist of the Taittinger competition and honored with the title of chevalier de l’ordre de Prosper Montagné defending the quality of the table. He is extremely grateful to prince Robert de Luxembourg for allowing him to complete his journey in the Bordeaux area with the prestigious chateau of Haut Brion.”

Christelle has been working in the restaurant business since she was 15 years old. Her many experiences ranging from waitressing to managing an establishment, have given her key knowledge to manage Le Grézalide. “Christelle has a rich and varied background that has allowed her to have skills in many areas with, each time, a willingness to always learn and go the extra mile” confides Pascal.

And if you go there

at night?

The rooms in the castle take you on a journey through history, those on the garden level give direct access to the garden and the pool.
