Let’s discover the amazing journey of this company, born in the buffet of the Capdenac train station and which has risen to the first national rank of the manufacture and marketing of dishes and vegetables cooked in cans and trays.

More than 140 years

of gourmet stories

As surprising as it may seem, the company was born thanks to the arrival of therailroad.

In 1866, the station of Capdenac-Gare became a strategic location on the Toulouse – Paris line. At that time, Théophile Raynal ran the station’s buffet, a restaurant popular with travelers. He joined forces with Ernest Roquelaure, a chef who had earned his stripes in the European princely courts.

In 1876, the two visionary partners founded the Maison Raynal & Roquelaure. They had the bright idea of canning the delicious dishes they prepared, including the golden pâté, the brand’s oldest product. The concept of the appertized ready meal was born.

Traditional dishes


Today, the company markets more than 90 different cooked dishes at several production sites. The company elaborates traditional dishes: lentils cooked Auvergne style, Toulouse sausages, duck cassoulet, pork shank, petit salé Auvergnate style.

This company, with a strong identity rooted in the terroir, has been able to innovate, adapt and take advantage of new technologies so that today it is at the forefront of modernity and has obtained national and international certifications.

The In the Footsteps of Raynal and Roquelaure, an atypical tour in two parts: the discovery of the urban center of Capdenac-Gare, followed by the discovery of the company.

  • General tour : meet at the company’s parking lot, Zone Industrielle Les Taillades – 12700 Capdenac-Gare
  • Thematic visit: meet in front of the train station (no ticket office on site)


  • Full: 8 €
  • Reduced: 5 € children from 12 to 16 years old, students, job seekers and disabled people, free for under 12 years old
  • Groups: up to 25 people, fixed price of 130 € for 1 guide; from 26 to 50 people: 250 € (2 guides).
  • A gift bag offered by Raynal et Roquelaure awaits you at the end of the visit


  • On reservation only, Monday to Friday all year round according to the production schedule except from mid-July to mid-August.

  • Pass the corridor of time to discover the history of the company from 1876 to the present day.
  • Get a glimpse of the savoir-faire and the secrets of thedevelopment of a recipe through a video.
  • Discover the entire manufacturing cycle of a cooked dish thanks to a gallery overlooking the various workshops.
  • Let yourself be surprised by these sophisticated machines, by the volumes produced, an average of 45,000 cans per production cycle, that is to say, one to two cans per second during the crimping process!
