Surprising as it may seem, the company was born thanks to the arrival of the railroads. In 1866, Capdenac-Gare became a strategic point on the Toulouse-Paris line. At that time, Théophile Raynal ran the station buffet, a restaurant popular with travelers, and joined forces with Ernest Roquelaure, a chef who had earned his spurs in the princely courts of Europe. In 1876, the two visionary partners founded Maison Raynal & Roquelaure. They had the bright idea of canning the delicious dishes they prepared, including pâté doré, the brand’s oldest product. The concept of the appertized ready meal was born.

Today, the company markets more than 90 different ready-made meals at several production sites. The company produces traditional dishes such as lentils cooked Auvergnate-style, Toulouse sausages, duck cassoulet, ham hocks and Auvergnate-style petit salé. This company, with its strong identity rooted in the terroir, has been able to innovate, adapt and take advantage of new technologies to be today at the cutting edge of modernity and to have obtained national and international certifications.

The “In the footsteps of Raynal and Roquelaure” tour, an atypical visit in two parts: the discovery of the urban center of Capdenac-Gare, followed by the discovery of the company.

  • General tour: meet at the company parking lot, Zone Industrielle Les Taillades – 12700 Capdenac-Gare
  • Thematic tour: meet in front of the station (no ticket office on site).

RATES

  • Full price: €8
  • Reduced: €5 for children aged 10 to 16, students, jobseekers and people with disabilities, free for children under 10.
  • Groups: up to 25 people: €130 for 1 guide; 26 to 50 people: €250 (2 guides).
  • A gift bag from Raynal et Roquelaure awaits you at the end of your visit.

GROUPS

  • By reservation only, Monday to Friday all year round, according to production schedule, except from mid-July to mid-August.

  • Pass through the corridor of time to discover the company’s history from 1876 to the present day.
  • Watch a video to learn about the know-how and secrets involved in creating a recipe.
  • Discover the entire production cycle of a ready-made meal in a gallery overlooking the various workshops.
  • You’ll be amazed by these sophisticated machines, and by the volumes produced – an average of 45,000 tins per production cycle, or one to two tins per second during the crimping process!
