Reilhac has the rare distinction of offering one of the most beautiful sights on the Causse at nightfall: a remarkably pure starry sky. Situated in the heart of the Triangle Noir du Quercy and awarded the “Villes et Villages étoilés” (Starry Towns and Villages) label, the village is an ideal place to contemplate the celestial vault. On the heights, an astronomical observation site has been set up so that everyone can take full advantage of this natural treasure, one of the best-preserved skies in France. The interpretation desk invites you to spot the constellations, gain a better understanding of the night sky and appreciate the importance of preserving the night sky. When the sun disappears behind the trees and the causse calms down, all you have to do is sit back, look up and savour this simple, rare spectacle: a deep, silent sky, open to the stars.
