In the heart of the Lot Ségala region, Latronquière is surrounded by chestnut, beech and fir forests, close to the Lac du Tolerme and the Roc de France wetlands. Nearby Labastide-du-Haut-Mont, the highest point in the département at 788 metres, offers superb panoramic views of the Monts du Cantal. A former crossing point between Quercy and Auvergne, the village has a long history as a commandery of the Order of St John of Jerusalem. A few kilometres away, the Château de Bessonies extends this journey back in time in the footsteps of Marshal Ney.

Roc de France

This 10.7km walk (approx. 3 hours) offers a wonderful immersion in the Ségala countryside. From Latronquière, the trail passes through forests and hamlets before reaching the Roc de France wetland, a remarkable natural site forobserving flora and fauna. Footbridges and interpretation trails allow you to discover ponds, streams and wetlands in complete tranquillity. A varied walk, ideal for appreciating both the rural landscapes and the ecological wealth of this unspoilt site.

With its beach, the Lac du Tolerme becomes a veritable playground in summer. You can swim there under the watchful eye of the lifeguards, lie in the sun, while others slide down the waterslides, take off on the Aqua-Parc or cross the lake on a zip-line. Pedalos, canoes, paddles and rowing boats are also available for exploring the site on the water. Out of season, the lake reveals a relaxing atmosphere… A 5km footpath winds around it, offering an accessible walk in the heart of a generous natural setting. The site is also popular with anglers all year round. Picnic tables, a playground and restaurants complete this lively setting, ideal for a day out with family or friends in an unspoilt natural setting.
