Ajouter aux favoris

Nestling in the Dourmelle valley, Fons offers a charming setting where dry-stone cliffs, chestnut groves and medieval houses meet. A former monastic town founded in the 10th century, the village has retained its authentic character, with a Romanesque church, narrow streets, fountains, market hall, medieval houses and fortified remains.A peaceful place, perfect for strolling around, observing the sculpted details and enjoying a break in the heart of the Limargue.

Old streets, covered market

and merchant houses

The village boasts a rich and lively heritage:

  • the remains of the ramparts, still visible in the course of the “Balat”.
