The gardens of Grand-Figeac

At the entrance to Cardaillac, this little haven of peace is in itself a concentration of atypical plants. Between trellises of branches and plessis, you can see plant species that are medicinal and tinctorial from the Middle Ages,   plants known as « de sorcières » to which magical powers were attributed! The potager offers an array of plants grown to prepare the meals of the era: fine vegetables to make soups, including the authentic haricot de Cardaillac, but also aromatic plants, condiments to prepare meats. Greenery, water, picnic tables, a pétanque ground and a play area will delight families and children.

What a pleasure it is to stroll through the incredibly colourful gardens of the château de Larnagol! Here the nature is harmonious with fragrant roses but also a panel of flowers époustouflant, both in the jardin à l’Italienne and in that à la Française. An ornamental vegetable garden, an orchard and spring-fed ponds make up this green tableau, offering perfect beauty from one terrace to the next. Time seems to stand still here, and you can sit back and admire the breathtaking view over the Lot valley.
